Something interesting about Arlong after I took a recap of the series by going back; is the fact that he gets angry at Luffy for hurting one of his men. After Alvida, Morgan, Buggy, Kuro, and Krieg all actively attacked their subordinates without hesitation, Arlong was the first main antagonist who actually did care about his subordinates' well being.

~Luffy didn't know what was going on on the island, who Nami is working under, what they have done to her and her family, how much hardship she had been enduring, how much they wronged her, how many of the villagers have they killed... none of it, he literally has nothing to do with anything.

But all it takes is for Nami to ask, and without a moment of hesitation, he put his treasured Straw Hat on her head, and take on the most dangerous pirate in all of East Blue, just because they hurt his friend. That was the moment I truly got hooked with One Piece, while Luffy becoming one of my favorite anime characters. (✿◡‿◡)

all i can say is same! i watched one piece 2 months ago for fun and now i am already attached with the show. never regretting i took the chance to watch it even though it is SOOOOO long. i am not fond of long animes but i don't want one piece to end yet.

Nami's arc is really the sole reason why I got hooked with One Piece from the start. Her backstory and her feelings just resonated with me

Nami and Robin's story have their similarities. Both are showing the dark side of two organizations. Both lost their loved ones, freedom, and were alone. And, both are helped by Luffy without regards of their pasts because they're friends.

Unlike you, who binge watched this entire shit within days, there are thousands of people who actually have been proceeding with One Piece for years. A recap like these might actually be bursts of nostalgia, which they could cherish after almost 300 episodes. Use your brain a bit ma' bruv :)
